As I find, test and evaluate freeware tools I will ad them here for your use. I shall not be held responsible for anything related to the files here. They work for me and are my favorites. If you wish to share one, send it to me and I will evaluate it, then post it. The list will be small but hopefully useful.
ECleaner is a program that will clean off all those unwanted codes and forwarding symbols in a forwarded email. Follow directions for use and installation. It works on the principle of find/replace then copy past, but it is done for you. Once you use this a couple of times it's easy and great, I have a shortcut to this program in my Quick Launch tool bar.
Language Translator
- This is a nice add on
to Microsoft Word 2002 only. Word 2002 has a translate function but it only
translates small phrases or single words. This program adds access to a
translating company on the web. You can translate entire documents. You
also need a net passport, any hotmail account works and they are free.
This is needed for the first use only.
Spybot - Search
& Destroy can detect and remove spyware of different kinds from your computer.
Spyware is a relatively new kind of threat that common anti-virus applications
do not yet cover. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you
didn't intentionally install, if your browser crashes, or if you browser start
page has changed without your knowing, you most probably have spyware. But even
if you don't see anything, you may be infected, because more and more spyware is
emerging that is silently tracking your surfing behavior to create a marketing
profile of you that will be sold to advertisement companies. Spybot-S&D is free,
so there's no harm in trying to see if something snooped into your computer, too
:)
